Apparently the age-old art of rock'n'roll never dies. For those that weren't there the first time round for whatever reason or any hardcore fans out there, Iron Maiden's new live album is released this week.

Featuring all the 'classics' - the most memorable tunes at least - from the band, the CD accurately reproduces their live repertoire.

The self-titled Iron Maiden gets the ball rolling with an energetic, pumping five minutes of satanic rock'n'roll.

The Number Of The Beast carries on the trend with a fast and furious rocker's paradise while Run To The Hills gives the drummer his few seconds of glory before the trademark '70s guitar joins the stadium vocal chorus.

The album is essentially a fundraising effort for a multiple sclerosis charity, as Maiden's drummer suffers from the disease, and for this effort the band should be applauded.

And Rock In Rio will undoubtedly strike a chord with true Iron Maiden fans. It shows the heavy metal band at their most raucous, headbanging best.

However, this release is hardly likely to earn them any new fans and they seem to be doing little more than riding on former glories.
