The legendary Turbonegro have regrouped after ten years in and out of mental institutions and jails. Dave Grohl, The Hives and current touring partners Queens Of The Stone Age are all fans, being raised on seminal deathpunk albums such as Ass Cobra and Apocalypse Dudes.

They dress in a uniform of denim - with one unfortunate saddled with dungarees giving off a disturbing Deliverance vibe. Top this off with a jaunty sailor's hat, a cape, and make up, and they make Boy George's current 'paint your chins black' idea look subtle.

They deal in ManRockT - a tough and hard bastard blend of Gay Viking boogie-metal, where men of experience get drunk, get naked and party. A party where The Ramones, and Electric-era Cult skull-mashed on bad speed, dress up as Alice Cooper and enjoy a bottle fight with Motorhead.

Titles such as Wipe It 'Til It Bleeds, Train Of Flesh and current single Fuck The World indicates where they're currently at, and few bands could take the piss out of themselves as eloquently as 'I hear they ate a baby' and 'They make my asshole bleed' on the filthy grunting Turbonegro Must Be Destroyed.

Scandanavian Leather sounds at its best around that moment of dumb Jackass-esque invincibility that only comes after drowning in a lake of vodka, or a bunch of bikers reversing on your head. No doubt the Turbojegend - the various chapters of 'negro fans in places such as New York, Amsterdam and, um, Devon - will lap it up.

Go on, join in. Get some slap on and let Turbonegro touch your special area.
