Best of all you can leave your tent at home and take up residency in a snazzy caravan as Beachbombing is taking over an entire holiday park to host the event - for those travelling solo the Beachbombing team have a Caravan Share facility and will match you with like minded part goers.

Your days will be spent on Fistral Beach listening to the sound of the Atlantic soothing your hangover and playing beach games, mega bingo and trying your hand at sand castle building competitions. There will even be a Pimp My Van pageant which will reward the best decorated caravan. Perennial tricksters and purveyors of the puerile, the incorrigible Squeaky Hill will also be on hand everyday spreading high-jinks and mayhem along the waterfront.

After lazy days spent frolicking and flirting on the beach, revelers will decamp for the Beachbombing Poolside Sundown Sessions back at the Trevelgue Holiday Park, giving you time to relax your mind as chilled out Caf� Del Mar-esque tracks mellow with the twilight glow.

But it's when the sun goes down that the party really kicks off. The Thursday night BBQ session shenanigans kicks off with Men in Masks and then its onto the main on site club to lap up the delights of Different Strokes, The Cuban Brothers, Tayo and Switch which winds down at 3am.

If you fancy a some cabaret or need a break from taking yourself too seriously, checkout the oleaginous Cuban Brothers. Fresh from 70s Havana, nurtured on a diet of soulful sexy tunes, and frequently appearing on stage in little more than some stained, saggy, y-fronts, their performance combines music, slapstick comedy, jiggling genitalia, cabaret kitsch and crude exhibitionism. These guys are an unforgettable stage act.

The most bizarre billing of the festival must be Mexican Wrestling outfit clad DJs Men in Masks who will be appearing over all three days. Just slide up to the booth and either El Mysterio or the Black Night will play you anything from indie punk rock, to hip-hop.

On Friday the music medley kicks off at noon with Loose Cannons to lull you away from your caravan berth. These Funk missionaries are known on dancefloors worldwide, having toured with the Scissor Sisters and will be bringing their irrepressibly discerning dirty disco to Newquay just for the weekend.

Former Cream and Ministry of Sound House DJ Phat Phil Cooper and progenitor of the Nu Northern Soul movement, will be providing the sundown set at the BBQ session.

Late night revelers will be able to hit the dance floor to remix kings The Glimmers and the sensational German electro duo Digitalism. For the past two years, Isi and Jens have been the go-to men for indie remixes, having reworked the Klaxons, The Test Icicles, Cut Copy and The Futureheads to devastating effect.

The final evening on Saturday will see top break beat DJ Paul Arnold grabbing the decks and proceedings will close with a set from Hybrid, who recently supported Moby.

Other unmissable musical mavericks making their way to the coast for this weekend of beach side partying include the genre splicing Deadly Avenger, the male/female DJ duo, Petty Krooks, the encyclopedic music tastes of Filthy Dukes as well as house pioneers Unique 3. The Chemical Brothers cite this lot as their inspiration, so check out the innovators of early house music, if you know what�s good for you.

So forget leaping over stiles in a muddy shire for your festival kicks. Spread your beach towel out, and enjoy partying under the starlight Cornish skies. One more piece of advice: pasties make for a miracle hangover cure.
