UK cinema release date: 2 June 2006
Two cops - one ruthlessly corrupt, the other obsessively determined to bring him down - battle to be first to convict a violent armed gang and earn the coveted position of Chief of Police. These deadly rivals are masterfully portrayed by France’s two biggest male stars, Gerard Depardieu and Daniel Auteuil.

Valeria Golino plays the woman caught between them. With its immaculate production values and satisfyingly intricate plotting, this gritty, hard-boiled tale of honour and betrayal was an enormous box-office hit on its release in France.
