Karla is a freelance playwright and journalist working in Film and Theatre. As a playwright she has had plays read at the Oval House Theatre, Soho Theatre and The Albany and her third play was staged at the Warehouse Theatre in 2006. She has also been accepted on the Critical Mass writers group at the Royal Court Theatre.
As a journalist she has interviewed the Olivier nominated playwright Tarell Alvin McCraney, British actor Ashley Walters, City of God director Fernando Meirelles and X Factor Finalist Alexandra Burke, among others. She was also selected for the Royal Shakespeare Company’s year long Journalist Bursary Programme this August
