The rather irritatingly named 3hird Light are the new guise of cult Welsh band Big Leaves, and this debut single is co-produced by Super Furry Animal Cian Ciárán.
The lead track on this EP moves pleasingly between grunge-lite verse and a 60s tinged chorus that brings to mind a beefed-up version of The Thrills. The brass section that bursts into life halfway through lifts the song above the average indie guitar record.
The remaining two tracks are as good, if not quite as immediate as Movin' On. Big Leaves had a loyal if small following - 3hird Light could build successfully on that if this excellent EP is anything to go on.
