The G-Unit firm continues to grow with the summer signings of M.O.P. and guest rappers on Outta Control Mobb Deep. Havoc and Prodigy are real gritty rap artists, with the potential to bolster the thuggish element that clearly underpins the G-Unit brand.

Not that you would know any of that from Outta Control, which is an uncharacteristically soft track that smacks of commercialism particularly through Fiddy's attempt at a harmonic chorus. For Mobb Deep it's completely different to the hard-hitting violent lyrics found on Americaz Nightmare.

While there is no doubt that this single will sell in droves, the track gives credence to The Game's musings over 50 Cent; "Remember 50 comin' out ya stereo / sounded gangsta 'til he switched his flow." This isn't a song that displays a love of hip-hop - just a love of money - and is about as far removed as the Outta Control that features on The Massacre.
