Summer may be on the wane, and the nights may be drawing in with alarming rapidity, but Aberfeldy don't mind. They're more than content to push out their lightly textured folk-pop to ease the transition for us.

Summer's Gone is taken from the excellent Young Forever album of 2004, and ties in with an eight-venue UK tour. It features a winsome melody with an accompaniment that sounds like a one-fingered Casio special, but is actually surprisingly intricate, punctuated as if turned off briefly, before starting again with its wandering electronic melody. With a brief violin solo to boot, it's an eventful three minutes.

If you're yet to be introduced to this charming Edinburgh quintet, take the time to enjoy Summer's Gone. And if you don't want to hear more, I'll eat my new winter hat.
