It's a good time of year to bring out a single full of Balearic warmth, and Alex Gold has decided to do just that to relaunch his career away from the decks.
Having spent years playing this sort of stuff, Gold is now the other side of the controls, securing an assured production with a decent beat and a mellow, trancey sound. Only the song's lyrical material fails to excite, rather too close in style to the Dirty Vegas song Days Go By, which took the United States by storm a few years back.
This could well follow suit, as Alex has a big following across the pond, but over here things may be more difficult. What it's bound to achieve is the striking of a chord for anyone already nostalgic for late '90s dance music.
