No longer asking us to Swing Swing and having happily fooled us all into thinking they had written their Last Song, those emo-lite types The All-American Rejects are back for a little bit more - suggesting that there is, after all, a consistent demand for this type of thing. Careful, now.
As with every other song of theirs, Move Along is entirely competent, and even relatively catchy at times. The promising lead riff, however, has been polished to within an inch of its life, and the lyrics are a mere hop, skip and a jump from cringetacular Sugababes territory.
Once again, then, The All-American Rejects fail to provoke much of a reaction either way - there's no more reason to hate Move Along than there is to love it. At least the brief inclusion of child vocals hints towards an ever-widening pool of influences (most strikingly Canadian outfit Pilate, in this case)... still, best Move Along anyway - there's little to see here.
