There's no way that Bob O'Lean could be produced by anything other than a dance artist with a French connection, and sure enough this release on Ministry's new Open imprint is from the Parisian duo Aloud.

As you'd expect it's a smooth, funky ride with cool keyboards, simple yet funky bass and a nicely understated vocal. A generous selection of remixes includes Armand Van Helden's minimal, up-for-it house treatment, followed by a pair of electro remixes from Play Paul and Serge Santiago, the latter a spooky concoction of reverb beats and distorted bass.

It's the original you want though - catchy and tailor made for radio - so there's no reason why Bob O'Lean shouldn't be making you aware of his presence real soon.
