Alsou is a massive star in her native Russia. The 21 year old has already recorded a duet with Enrique Iglesias and has supported Westlife on their recent tour.
Listening to Always On My Mind though, it's to be hoped that she has better songs up her sleeve than this one, otherwise she's unlikely to replicate her success over here. This is bland RnB with nothing at all distinctive about it - Alsou's vocals, while undeniably sultry, are nothing special and the tune just floats pleasantly along without making much of a real impression.
The video which comes with the single, featuring Alsou writhing in the back seat of a car, is expensive and glossy showing that at least her record company have faith in her. But she's going to have to do better than this if she doesn't want to end up as the Russian Alizee. Who? Exactly.
