This New York based band (leader singer Anna is from Stockholm) are hyped as punk-inspired, which may be accurate when taking certain songs from their debut album Vit-Ri-Fied into account. On this new single they are more catchy and sophisticated - if the latter is the correct word - than the rough and ragged noise of the punk bands of late '70s London and New York.
There is a dominant disco beat with Anna's gentle feminine vocal touch smothering the sound, the bass is subtle but apparent and the licks are creamy; it is all gently topped with a fresh and honest vibe. This release also includes the DJ Downfall remix and B-side Not 2 Easy 2 Forget, which is more up-tempo than its sibling.
Everything 2 Me is a sexy tune recalling the early quirky soft rock and disco sound of Blondie and the smooth polished texture of The Cardigans. Gordon Ramsay wouldn't mind having this on his menu. Recommended.
