Yes, the sister of everybody's favourite MTV bimbo has a single of her own - and an album too, for that matter. The young Ashlee Simpson has followed in her sister's high-heeled footsteps by embarking on a career in the pop world, but she's still likely to end up standing in the shadow of big sister Jessica.

However, in a contrast from her sibling's pop career, Ashlee has gone down a somewhat more rocky route - quite literally. La-La presents itself with a stereotypically distorted US pop-rock guitar sound. However, instead of the likes of Scott Stapp from Creed on vocals, we find Ashlee bringing her husky teenage voice to the forefront of what is almost a good attempt at a rock song.

It's not a bad attempt at what Avril Lavigne has already accomplished and will probably haunt the airwaves of the US for several weeks to come. It probably won't replicate that success in this corner of the world, and whether of not that is a bad thing is entirely your opinion.
