Between those naughty new ravers of CSS and the glorious sunshine dream pop of Asobi Seksu - Japanese for 'playful sex' - the UK's indie kids will know rude words in far too many languages by the end of the year.
Lush and sensual, with a vocal delivery and musical foundation not a million miles away from Bjork, Thursday comes from the band's second album Citrus. Japanese girl singer Yuki's voice dances along over James Hanna's guitar and Ben Shapiro's drums, all held in place by a thumping bassline courtesy of Haji.
The tunes are bittersweet and sometimes drenched in feedback that lifts them far enough out of the mainstream to be interesting while still enabling them to keep a foot in the radio-friendly, infusing tunes on the avant garde as they embark on their first European tour.
This is great summer indie pop. All we need now is the weather to go with it.
