The figures say it all - number one in Germany, France and Italy to name but a few European successes, with 1.5 million singles sales. Small wonder, then, that Obsesion is released in the UK with high hopes for a lofty chart placing.
The band's style is described as "bachata", derived from Latin America in the same way as the lambada. Obsesion presents a Euro friendly take on this style, with an impassioned chorus presented in a plethora of club mixes, which after a while seem to meld into the same tune.
It should be big - catchy, disco friendly and distinctive enough. Unfortunately the authenticity of the Latin is compromised by its chart-seeking sensibilities, but when your single sells like that you wouldn't be worried about small mercies, would you?
