Great name for a Liverpool rock'n'roll band - apparently inspired by ex-England striker Peter Beardsley, who used to live next door to Gary (Murphy) Bandit's nan.

The music's pretty good too, if this debut single is anything to go by - and it must be, if legendary producer John Leckie (Stone Roses, Radiohead) works with them for nothing.

The Warning is good old-fashioned heavy rock, Led Zeppelin-style: screaming guitars, driving rhythms and terrific vocals from John (Robinson) Bandit. Free Me Rain adds blues overtones to stunning effect. Hot stuff.
