Be Your Own Pet come from the home of country music, Nashville, Tennessee. Please don't expect steel pedal guitars and mournful melodies with these four teenagers though - this is short, sharp and very noisy punk rock.
Let's Get Sandy is less than one minute long, extremely loud and grabs the attention from the off. Jemima Pearl is the star, bawling out lyrics like "we all want holes in our socks, and that place totally rocks" like her life depends on it. They pack so much energy into the song's 59 seconds that there's no need for such old-fashioned thing as a tune, but it works purely on its vicious atmosphere.
The same can't be said of the B-side, Early Sandy, which sounds like a group of stoned kids sat round a campfire and manages to make 96 seconds seem like two hours. Stick to the loud guitars next time guys...
