Ah, more dancehall and more summer release dates that clash with stormy weather. Well we don't get much else up North, but the ray of sunshine that's blaring from my speakers can't fail to make me forget the weather. Okay so maybe music doesn't have that profound an impact.

To be fair King Of The Dancehall isn't as 'sunny' a song as Dude was, in a way it compliments the rain as the soca beat doesn't quite suit glorious sunshine, more a sweaty club. Lyrically it's typical Beenie Man - pretty much indecipherable, but it sounds cool.

With Sean Paul currently taking a back seat the dancehall throne is there for the taking. Beenie Man is putting in a claim for it - and it's not like he doesn't deserve it for his contribution to the genre. But if he was to be crowned on the merits of this song it would be a travesty.
