Betty Curse (a ridiculously attractive 19 year old girl with fashion mag features) has taken the Goth Glam image and married it to rock tunes that don't so much have the stench of death and the Misfits about them, as a heady pong of Charlie and Avril Lavigne. Chances are that it won't do a lot for old school goth bands, but it will get a few backs up.
Despite the image and the list of influences (The Cramps, Nick Cave, The Velvets) Betty Curse is about as far away from Goth as you can get. Both songs on this double A side are simply great pop songs, there's nothing very Goth going on here. Full marks however for writing a song (Excuse All The Blood) about the suicide note of Mayhem band member Dead and then including the picture of his corpse on your Myspace account.
The teen anthem Met on The Internet (sample lyric: "Sleeping my way through homework, sleeping my way through class") is unlikely to resonate too strongly with the true Goth community as it just seems a little too faux rebellion and lacks any real introspection. If you have kids, now would be a good time to paint their bedroom walls black.
