Starting in a lostprophets indie rock vibe, this new British crew, that actually can't quite be placed in either the metal or emo camp, have created a rather promising EP. Lead track This September is considerably softer than the latter efforts, but perhaps boasts the best song writing.

With more melody than most bands would know what to do with, Beyond All Reason deftly mix tunes with breakneck riffs, best shown on The Line We Draw Between which has an old school revival (read Shadows Fall) kind of feel to it but retains the shrill emo cries along with the guttural barks.

The lead vocals overall are perhaps slightly whiny, and jar somewhat with the contrasting screams. This may be down to the slightly tinny production and dodgy mix, but since it's an early demo there is certainly time to fix this. There should be no reason, vocals permitting, why these guys shouldn't be embraced by a British rock scene that is crying out for some authentic variety.
