Biffy Clyro - Joy Discovery Invention (Beggars Banquet)
UK release date: July 15 2002
Biffy Clyro - Joy Discovery Invention
More so-real-it-hurts rock from Scotland's Biffy Clyro, who sound like Metallica doing one of their ballads here - uncharacteristically. Anyone who owns the album Blackened Sky will know that most of it consists of guitars with the feedback level at top notch, but this is a quieter affair.

The track comes backed with Toys Toys Toys Choke, Toys Toys Toy', which is not on the album. It's an edgy affair featuring characteristic numbers of rhythm and pace changes in weird, unsettling places. Unfortunately, it ends up sounding like lots of interesting ideas stuck together to make a song.

They've been a big noise already with a slew of singles, and this will please their newly acquired fans.
