A masterclass in how to be successful: disappear for a few years then come back completely regenerated. Drop a couple of massive singles in tandem with your massively successful album. Then what? Release a single better than its predecessors. Impossible, surely?

Apparently Hey Mama begs to differ. It's arrogant - the Peas know fine and well this beat will make you move as a reflex reaction. There's calypso funk and an Outkast-esque hip-pop beat that complement Fergie's dominant voice and the rapping of the four other group members.

Unlike Shut Up and Where is the Love, I've heard Hey Mama countless times and it still isn't doing my head in. Long may that continue. If you don't already own Elephunk then it's about time you put that right.
