This is the second time Booty Luv have soared vulture-like over an uptempo gem of soulful origin, and then, when the original author was at their most vulnerable, swooped to haul it kicking and screaming onto the Friday night local club dancefloor.
A tad harsh perhaps, but the wonderful Tweet song Boogie 2Nite suffered at their hands, and now it's the turn of Lucy Pearl's Don't Mess With My Man to meet its maker. The original is a superb song, so Cherise Roberts and Nadia Shepherd both have a tough job on to update it.
Both vocalists could previously be found in the now defunct Big Brovaz, so have previous if brief chart bothering action. This looks set to add to the list, but for those who know and love the original it will be a tougher job converting to this undoubtedly cheesy and inferior cover version. Even remixes from Seamus Haji and Thomas Gold fail to shake that opinion.
