The Bravery are the latest in a rather long line of hip bands to come out of New York City. Their first UK release, the Unconditional EP, caused quite a stir at the tail end of last year - It displayed a synth driven, hook laden sound that evoked comparisons to fellow countrymen and eighties revivalists The Killers.

However, where Brandon Flowers and co. have been listening to too many Duran Duran records, it seems The Bravery have been taking their lessons from New Order.

Indeed, An Honest Mistake sounds a lot like Blue Monday with its steady drumbeat, omnipresent synths, dark vocals and infectious chorus. In other words, it's a perfect three and a half minute pop song that acts as a tantalising taster of what to expect from the album, due out in March. This year's Killers? Most certainly, with the potential to be a great deal more.
