British Sea Power, flavour of the day in certain indie circles with their big, emotive sound, prepare the way for their debut album with this lovely little teaser of an EP.

Kicking off with Childhood Memories to these ears reminiscent of The The circa Soul Mining, especially when the song comes to life in the chorus, and the sound expands to more bombastic, epic proportions without sounding pompous or self indulgent.

On Favours in the Beetroot Fields they opt for a quick Pixies-esque stomp, all squalling angular guitars, and martial drums, before the dreamy pastoral jangle of Strange Communication. All in all a perfect taste of what's to come.
