Starting with the kind of harmonica action that would not have been out of place on an old Alarm album, the latest single from BlackBURN's The Burn (geddit?), is a surprisingly folky number that sounds like Embrace after a late-night binge with Neil Young.

Drunken Fool has a cool, laid-back vibe and boasts an interesting rhythm. Unfortunately, its quality is diminished by some rather clumsy vocal intonation and lyrics like, "Scream and shout, let it all out, you've got to let yourself go".

Still, if the debut album consists of other tracks like this one, then The Burn might just be able to carve themselves a niche amongst the plethora of Northern indie bands on the scene at the moment.
