Remember the no.1 single Doctor Who by The Timelords? Remember how it sounded like a mickey-take of something by Roxy Music? Well, here's the deal - The Burn have taken the track's rhythm, ripped out the daft lyrics and preposterous costumes and left us with something that begs to have Jerry Hall saunter about on its video.

Smiling Face is, like so much in the guitar band sector just now, far from original. Someone's obviously noticed that the British public like buying karaoke music (such as that pedalled by the various Pop Idol contestants) and have applied the principles of their music to indie bands.

There isn't much point to the reworkings of these classic tunes, but it is poppy enough, which this is, people will buy it. It's harmless enough, but hardly likely to change your life.
