Okay, so they might look like the coolest dads at sports day, but this is The Buzzcocks, man, The Buzzcocks, and today they find themselves previewing their eighth LP with its first single, Wish I Never Loved You.

They don't have to impress us - their enviable 30-year track record does that for them - but they decide to anyway with a rollicking pop-punk track that pushes all the same buttons Ever Fallen In Love did. Perhaps in time they'll be considered the irresistible parentheses at opposite ends of a thrilling back catalogue.

My dear reader, what I am trying to say is that Buzzcocks really are amazing creatures. You can learn all there is to know about them in a day, and yet after a hundred years they can still surprise you.
