The popularity of Caesars has been bolstered of late due to Apple
choosing past conquest, Jerk It Out, as the soundtrack to one of the recent
iPod adverts. Jerk It Out, culled from the last album 39 Minutes Of Bliss
(In An Otherwise Meaningless World), was re-released and earned a position
on the new album, Paper Tigers. Despite this, It's Not The Fall That
Hurts will be seen as the first single proper.
Built around a trademark Caesars kitsch, quirky, rhythmically driving
guitar line, It's Not The Fall That Hurts boasts a radio friendly formula,
but the pace seems to be tapered in comparison to the dynamite singles of
old.
The track hails a new Caesars: Their sweaty garage
style is still raw and cool as fuck, but the arrogant, explosive strut of
previous efforts has been replaced by a more poignant, knowing swagger - that likes to
rock.
