Following their recent Glastonbury appearance, Calexico release this EP of new material to complement their successful Feast Of Wire album.

At the centre is a breezy Mexican-style cover of Arthur Lee and Love's Alone Again Or, complete with subtle guitars and a free and easy trumpet. For me it's the two remixes that make this well worth getting though, as the ever excellent Cinematic Orchestra turn in a sublime remix of Woven Birds. The same track gets a slightly tougher treatment from Stratus.

By way of new original material Calexico offer a B-side in Convict Pool, complete with sinister timpani rumbles. All in all, an interesting package.
