Deltasonic is quickly building up a reputation up for itself as one of the finest record labels in the land. First The Coral, then The Zutons, now along comes Candie Payne, sister of a Zuton, with one of the best pop songs of the year so far.

Taking its cue from classic Dusty Springfield songs of the '60s, I Wish I Could Have Loved You More has a lovely shimmering quality to it, and is one of those records that sounds like a classic the moment you hear it. With a production that sounds like Portishead doing a James Bond theme, which shows off Payne's delightful voice to its best advantage, this is going to be hard to escape over the summer months.

Guaranteed to appeal to anyone who enjoyed Amy Winehouse's last album, this Scouse songstress is about to become one of the biggest names of 2007.
