Trevor Horn has been a busy bee recently. Not content with returning the Pet Shop Boys to something approximating their pomp with the Fundamental album, he's also been producing the forthcoming debut by this London based group who've been getting an awful lot of people very excited.
Glorious is aptly named, being a shimmering slice of electro-pop with lush harmonies, seemingly tailor made for these hot summer days. Horn's production is apt as it sounds very '80s, even bringing to mind such long-forgotten names as China Crisis with its slightly fey keyboard lines.
It'll fit in nicely on the radio, and it'll blare from every Top Shop in the country soon enough. After all the hype about Captain, you may be expecting something life-changing - don't make that mistake, as they're not doing anything that's not been done a thousand times before. They do it very well though, and this should be a huge hit.
