Cat The Dog? Curious name. Gotta Leave...curious song. It all starts promisingly enough, with an intro featuring a very dirty, very sexy bass line accompanied by pounding drums creating a bone-crunching rhythm section.
Though things begin to waver in the verse and pre-chorus, it's all still harmless enough with a nod to Pearl Jam and Reef, particularly in the vocal delivery. The spiteful pre-chorus sees the distortion pedal stamped on, the cymbals crash...give me the chorus!
...alas, what follows is a chorus that takes all the energy and anticipation that made the pre-chorus work, and flops. If anything the chorus is not far detached from the tepid, namby-pamby, soulless pop those Orson twats make. This obviously let's the song down a bit. But credit where credit's due. Cool band name.
