While most starlets seem to follow the path to stardom by moving to the United States, Catherine Feeney has taken the opposite route across the Atlantic by moving to Norfolk from her native Los Angeles.

If the lyrics of Hurricane Glass are anything to go by, it wasn't a happy transistion - the lyrics tell tales of drinking alone in hotel rooms, calling dead telephone lines and concluding that "It's not what I planned, it's not where I thought I'd be". It's set to a tune that a grittier Sheryl Crow would be proud of and Feeney's strong voice is impressive throughout.

The B-side is a stripped down version of Bruce Springsteen's I'm On Fire, a beautifully understated rendition that rivals the original. If this is what moving to Norfolk does for you, perhaps the Tourist Office should be informed...
