Already being heavily touted by Radio 1's Zane Lowe, Cherryfalls are a new four-piece band who were spotted by chance by the MD of Island Records performing in the back of a London pub.
For All My Sins is the first product of the development deal that the band signed with the label and is a fine slice of post-Radiohead, melodic indie rock. Lead singer Joe McAdam bellows out the chorus which manages to be both uplifting and melancholic at the same time.
The back up tracks (didn't we used to call them B-sides?) are more restrained affairs that suggest that Cherryfalls could just avoid being dismissed as Snow Patrol wannabes. A fine debut, and a band worth keeping an eye on.
