As The Libertines implode, it seems fitting that Cherubs should suddenly appear. This five piece have been friends with Doherty, Barat and company for some time, supporting them on a Scandanavian tour and gaining some fans of their own in their process.
Hey Bunny is almost impossibly exciting. The adjective "angular" has suddenly sprung up to describe any number of bands and no doubt it will be applied liberally here too - imagine Franz Ferdinand with a rawer, punky edge. A nagging guitar riff works its way into your brain while Staale Bruland yelps some bizarre lyrics which end ominiously with "she said die die, and kissed him goodbye".
The supporting track, 9 * Out Of 10, is a briefly manic slice of rockabilly punk that backs up the notion that Cherubs could be a band worth getting rather excited about,
