Kiki, Alex and Melissa are the slightly mad, if utterly brilliant Chicks On Speed. They are having a good stab at changing the world with their paper dresses and questionable approach to tuneful. Their previous single We Don't Play Guitars articulated their preference for gaffa tape over a Fender, and last year's 99 Cents album was a cute sell-out joy.

Wordy Rappinghood was originally a hit in 1981 for Talking Heads rhythm section Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth, scoring them a bonkers Top Ten hit in the process. Teaming up with the ladies of Electroclash - Miss Kittin, Soffy O and Nicola Kuperus, along with shouty Le Tigre and Tina Weymouth herself, the Chicks could easily find themselves heading in a similar chartwards direction.

Aided by some neat mixes - especially Playgroup's stroppy bass-up - this could actually happen. And how great would it be to see Cat Deeley's face as she introduces them on CD:UK?
