Whilst producer Christian Falk may not be a household name round these parts (he's big in Sweden), Robyn is certainly on her way to that status following the success of With Every Heartbeat, which reached number one here last year.
Since then Robyn has been mercilessly plugging her self-titled album which first saw the light of day three years ago in her native Sweden. Undoubtedly, this song is destined for inclusion on a re-release of some kind.
Dream On is another delicious slice of credible dance-pop, one that combines genuinely heartfelt lyrics (about drug addiction and the pain of trying to stay clean no less), with stirring strings and a hands in the air, tripping off your tits chorus. The whole thing is made by Robyn's vocals, which are neither grandiose nor disconnected, but somewhere slap bang in the middle. It's like the best soundtrack to a rave circa 1992, only not nearly as terrible as that sounds.
