The early signs aren't promising for Circuits - another band of young, spiky London post-punkers with that awfully uninspiring name (although thankfully they've not put a The in front of their name). Do we really need another band to fill that post-Libertines shaped hole?
Well, luckily, on the evidence of this debut limited single, Circuits defy all expectations by actually being pretty good. It's nothing you won't have heard before of course - frantic guitars, urgent vocals and soaring choruses. Both Radio Silence and Half Read Book have bags of energy, hinting that Circuits are a cracking live band, and there are hints of the young Miles Hunt in the way that vocalist spits out his lyrics.
Of the two tracks, Half Read Book is possibly the best track, sounding like something Razorlight could easily produce. They may struggle to make themselves noticed in the current climate of guitar bands, but this suggests that Circuits are well worth keeping an eye on.
