From a record littered with good tracks and one almost certainly destined to be there or thereabouts near the top of the end of year polls, comes one of its more memorable moments. Is This Home On Ice is Noo Yawk based Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's second outing into the singles market, and should do rather well indeed.
Alec Ounsworth's as-if-he's-holding-his-nose, David Byrne inspired yelp is certainly there, and when combined with the hugely atmospheric, totally engulfing sounds manufactured by his cohorts on guitar, bass and keyboard, as is the case here, creates four minutes of uplifting music that will completely lure you into its world for its duration.
It sounds like something My Bloody Valentine might have mustered in their time, and may even have the more liberal amongst us reaching for a spliff to fully enhance the experience. But even if you're not that way inclined, I'm sure this will still sound great blaring out of the speakers at the local indie night, in a dingy theatre, or even a sunny field this summer. A song for all seasons, you might say, from a band who continue to go from strength to strength.
