Another week, another electro tinged band that are whipping the music media into hyperbolic frenzy. Clor (a "primitive" and "evocative" name reckons lead singer Barry Dobbin) are a Brixton based quintet producing electro-pop that's one part Devo, one part The Go! Team and one part all their own.

This, in total, makes one highly promising new band. Their second single to be taken from their forthcoming eponymous debut album is Outlines - an experiment in syncopation, synthesisers and trance-like vocals. The lyrics hold a charmingly naïve, therapists' view on the world, the chorus runs: "Each of us is special / In our own unique way".

Outlines (and Clor in general) certainly tick those boxes - pretty special, and undeniably unique. Having said that, this probably isn't for everyone, but if you (like me) like what you hear, then Outlines offers a tasty appetiser for that forthcoming long-player.
