Delicate pluckings of the guitar and soft vocals are what you are offered when you listen to Killing Off Our Friends, from The Coast's debut album Expatriate, even though the subject matter is quite sinister.
They have a certain Arcade Fire vibe to them, but a more mellowed out version. You expect it to be a touching ballad, but when you listen to it closer, you realise it's about multiple homicide. As the song gathers momentum the lead's vocals become more intense and the beat is more consistent.
Having all the ingredients of a poptastic song you can tell that they are going to go far. Let's just hope that death isn't their main theme.
