Superslick Parisian Marc Nguyen Tan is the man behind the moniker Colder and
To The Music is a voyage into the world of classy electropop. Nguyen Tan's
seductive French lilt floats on top of this dirty disco ode like Gauloise smoke
through a room of lithe limbed lovelies, and this 80s inspired track comes
packaged with some laudable vocal and dub remixes.
The trippy, shimmering synth of the Engel's remix is well worth a listen, but
the Arto's Mwarmer remix with its warped electro voices, sampled car alarms and
sirens is like being caught in a bad part of town with a Dalek.
The track's sultry moodiness morphs into a frenetically up beat dance tune in
the Midnight Mike Dub remix when the thrusting drum 'n' bass and reggae
influences come muscling in and turn this chic and conservative electro lullaby
into something a lot more hardcore and enjoyable.
