Scotland four-piece Copy Haho are quietly building up a bit of steam with their gentle, charming indie rock. You Are My Coal Mine is their second release, and hints at a promising future.
You Are My Coal Mine is built around restless guitars writhing over frenetic drum rhythms and vocals that somehow manage to be simultaneously icy, and warm. The song is intelligently structured, its parts well defined and varied, and is a great listen.
B-side, Cutting Out The Bad exemplifies a demonstrable willingness from Copy Haho to add as much creativity and life to their songs as possible. With excellent musicianship, Copy Haho are quite simply a good, charming, warm, easy-to-listen to indie band, who possess the ability to graduate to great.
