"Repeat after me, fuck Queen and country!" Ah, those were the days. Remember when the Manics got all hot under the collar and mixed punk, politics and glam rock and came up smelling of (Guns 'n') roses. The Corrections have an album coming out called Repeat After Me - do you reckon it's going to be an exciting explosion of ideas and riffs? If OCD is anything to go by - is it fuck.

There's nothing wrong with OCD exactly, but when your press release comes out saying that your single is a guitar fuelled rant against politicians then you'd better have something pretty strong to back it up. The honest truth is that this track does have some guitars on it, but they hardly fuel the thing. This is far from a rant either; it's got far more in common with the likes of Kooks or Razorlight-lite than The Clash. There is nothing here that reminds us of Bowie, Wire or Philip Glass as we were assured it would. I'm afraid it's just not that exciting.

OCD is however a fairly run of the mill, standard, catchy pop record, and you can never take that away from The Corrections. They're never going to set the world on fire, but they will make the drive home from work slightly more enjoyable; the chorus alone is worth pounding away on the steering wheel for. If you want to get angry with someone lads, forget the politicians and look a bit closer to your publicity.
