You may not know (or care), but The Crystal Method's Born Too Slow appears on the rather fantastic video game Need For Speed: Underground. This given, you now expect a high-octane track, and Born Too Slow doesn't fail to deliver.
Amusingly, and perhaps surprisingly, Limp Bizkit's former axeman Wes Borland guests on the track, choking out riff that sounds all too much like Marilyn Manson's Fight Song. It's an apt intro: suitably angry and repetitive, but nothing we've not heard before. The rest of the track, unfortunately, follows suit.
Born Too Slow is the perfect accompaniment for a racing game, no doubt. Without the frenzied gameplay and pretty colours, however, it fails to stand up to the efforts of The Crystal Method's electronica contemporaries.
