While rap becomes more and more mainstream and formerly obscure artists from both home and abroad rise to prominence, there was always going to be one lot to throw a spanner in the works. Step forth D12 to add a bit of light-hearted humour to the affray.

Well thanks guys, but Eminem and his mates needn't have bothered. This track was brilliant the first time I heard it, was decent up 'til about the 20th time - now it's just an annoyance. Fantastic and funny it may be, but with that comes excessive airplay - not that you'll hear Detroit's finest complaining.

With D12 World almost on the launch pad this is a timely reminder that these guys haven't quietly slipped away to the back of the Shady/Aftermath development centre. Fingers crossed that My Band is the Purple Pills novelty track just there to generate interest. Scrap that, I've got everything crossed that that's the case.
