Da Lata - Can It Be? (Palm Beats)
UK release date: 19 April 2004
Da Lata - Can It Be?

buy music
Da Lata's Serious album was a considerable success last year, its blend of soul, jazz and Latin enhanced by some quality vocal guests and a willingness to experiment.

Can It Be? is one of the more soulful moments, Courtney Denni's yearning vocal soaring over the subtle breakbeat and dreamy backing. Spiritual South's future boogie mix dresses the track up for the upfront dancefloor, building a healthy breaks momentum, while Da Lata's own Shelly mix takes the music into deep house territory.

A good advert for the album, and an exposition of the two talented writers behind the project, Chris Franck and Patrick Forge.
