From the eye-opening album Denies The Days Demise comes this, a spirited track from the muli-talented LA artist that seems to be several songs rolled into one, then put in front of an appreciative, if sampled, live audience.
It's quite an assault on the ears - not a criticism, as there's so much going on a couple of listens are needed to do the track full justice, to separate the riffs and enjoy the broken rhythms as they're thrown around. To complement the energy of the track are remixes from Diplo and Dark Party, the former adding a distinctly Eastern flavour and the latter showing a break beat of lighter proportions. The B-side Viva Vida, also from the album, features a languid clarinet and acoustic guitar, teamed to bring a glimpse of early summer.
As always with Ninja, an extremely interesting and stimulating package, and even if you have the album already the remixes are worth the extra outlay.
